Agenda
KlimaForum
With ten thousand daily visitors, participants from over 100 countries and a comprehensive programme of events, Klimaforum09 will be the biggest climate event in Copenhagen besides the official UN conference.
The programme features international guest speakers, over 150 open debates, 60 exhibitions, music, film and art.
Klimaforum09 is not an NGO (non-governmental organisation) they have no special causes, interests or agendas. They are here to represent ordinary concerned citizens from all around the world. They DON’T represent vested interests such as bureaucratics, politicans, business or civil servants. They DO represent scientists, grassroots activists, academics, writers, artists and people from all walks of life.
The idea behind Klimaforum09 is to create an open space, where people, movements and organisations can develop constructive solutions to the climate crisis.
Thousands of participants from all continents are expected to take part in Klimaforum09. Special efforts are being made to invite people from regions in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Oceania who will suffer most from climate change.
Klimaforum09 takes place in DGI-byen, a huge conference complex in the centre of Copenhagen just 50 metres from the central station. Klimaforum09 opens 7 December and ends 18 December. Klimaforum09 is organized by a broad coalition of Danish and international environmental movements and civil society organizations.
Klimaforum09 is free and open to all.
Food
People’s activist kitchens are cooking for (and with) the climate activists in Copenhagen; they are non profit mobile kitchens from Sweden, UK, Germany and the Netherlands. They support activists with delicious organic, vegan and regional food. The kitchens are autonomously run; they are not a non-political ’service-station’; and they would really appreciate some help – when you have a little time.
The meals are on donation basis and the suggested donation is 20 kr, (around € 2,5). There will be food all days at breakfast, lunch and dinner time.
Kitchens can be found at
Christiania / Nemoland: Rampenplan and Fahrende Geruechtekueche
KlimaForum09: Mykorrizha
Folkets Hus: Le Sabot
Ragnhilgade/Teglholmen: Anarchist T-Pot, Automat and Food for Action
Check out where the kitchens are located on this map.
Activists’ tool Kit
Here you can find an action guide made by our friends from Climate Action Justice where it also states what activists will be needing in Copenhagen.
Support Us
FYEG will participate with 40 delegates to the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen from the 7th till 18th of December….
It will be a great opportunity for our “Young Green Delegates” to be involved in such an important event and confront themselves with the most challenging issue of all time: climate change. We set up very ambitious and bold targets and the FYEG delegates will give their utmost to fulfil our mission in Copenhagen. In particular we will:
- Put pressure on politicians and states’ representatives to reach a fair and comprehensive agreement addressing global warming.
- Be active inside the conference by lobbying on specific issues that we consider fundamental for the future of the planet in where we live
- Be active outside the conference by organizing special events and manifestations as part of a young movement keen to undertake a more sustainable path
- Provide a day to day report on the negotiation process in order to keep informed youngsters in Europe on the main issues raised during the COP.
In order to be able to achieve our goals, we ask you to support our delegates during the COP 15. Any help you can give can really make a huge difference for us. Thanks of you we can really succeed in Copenhagen, so let’s fight together against climate change!
